5 things to do while staying in Costa Rica
Costa Rica’s magic comes from variety of places, microclimates and the mix of activities you can do. Here are some of our favorite ones!
Eating at Barrio Escalante
If you are a #foodie this is definitely the best place to go. Barrio Escalante offers you a variety of bars and restaurants defined by good taste and local style. You can find artisan beers and international food seasoned with Costa Rican flavor. This is a great place if you are vegan or vegetarian, we highly recommend Mantras and Ravi. Don’t miss Galway ice cream and Whapin Caribbean Food!
Swimming in Volcanic Hot Springs
Who doesn’t like to feel pampered and come out with soft relaxed skin? Even better if it’s all natural!Guanacaste has incredible landscapes, although is more known for its beaches the Rincón de la Vieja volcano offers a variety of activities for visitors. We recommend Rincón de la Vieja as a good place to enjoy swimming in natural volcanic hot springs and mud pools.
You can take a tour once you are there and explore more of the area, doing canopy, horseback riding or hiking are always a good idea.
Watch a sunset at the beach
There is no need to say much about this. Costa Rican beaches are incredible and there is magic in many of them. But since no sunset is like any other, keep memories and new awesome profile pictures from different tropical beaches.
We recommend you to go to Manuel Antonio in Quepos because you can visit the national park and watch many exotic animals like sloths, white face monkeys, macaws and parrots.
Visit Poás Volcano on a clear day
Poás Volcano crater looks amazing in clear days, it’s lakes are absolutely awesome. It is a good place to go with your loved ones and get a great picture, do some hiking and see some interesting volcanic plants.
You will also find good restaurants nearby to have a delicious local lunch and buy some crafts.
Go whale watching
Whale watching is a great activity in Costa Rica because you get to be on a boat, go out into the water and there is a high possibility to see whales and some other marine life. Costa Rica has the longest humpback whale watching season in the world so your chances are pretty good to see these magnificent creatures.
