5 local produce services that deliver to your door in Costa Rica

Costa Rica offers gorgeous fresh fruits and veggies all year round, but the farmers market usually are held during weekends at VERY early hours of the day, and let's be honest. Who has the energy to wake up early on a Saturday?

But lately, since subscriptions have risen and delivery is on trend, I've been trying some of this services and it's the most convenient, smooth and happy (money saving) solutions for my home.

Minys

This is the most complete and friendly service for fruits and veggies. You can buy online at https://www.minyscr.com or contact them via mail and they deliver to your door every day during weekdays. 

They grow and pack everything in Cartago, and you can ask for ANY type of veggie, they have or will grow it. If you are craving something you can't find in the supermarket, they will have it.

 

Quesos Artesanales del Roble

 Another delivery service you will fall in love with is this by Don Fernando del Roble. He is the dairy farmer and sells cheeses, milk, yogurt, sour cream, butter. You name it, if it's dairy he'll make it and deliver it to your address once a week.  I specially like buying dairy straight from the farmer, this way I am certain it's fresh product and hasn't been pasteurized that many times.

Frutacent 

This service specializes in "combos" or mixes of fruits you can get prepackaged, such as apples, pears, and grapes. They also sell veggies and you can send your list on the phone.

Amidomicilio

But if you also need a complete service, such as the whole supermarket shop you should go to Auto Mercado, the delivery service they offer is more expensive than the other options I've talked about here, but you can get soaps, bread, toiletries, wine.

And if you live near certain locations you might get the express service that promises delivery within an hour of the order.

Mundo Agrícola

Fresh, cheap and scheduled delivery of all your fruits and veggies. This company delivers to all the Metroplitan Area every day of the week.

Mundo Agrícola specializes in commercial clients but they can make an exception for you if your order is big enough. This is one of the oldest companies in the market, starting selling at the Mercado Borbón in San José, they've grown so much now they deliver to all Costa Rica.
